Welcome:

You Have Entered the Realm of Steve

During summer of 2005, I worked at the University of Toledo's Lake Erie Center as an REU (Research Experience for Undergraduates) student. My research project was to grow some native Ohio plants in hydroponics and treat them with inorganic Arsenic to determine possible uses for wetland phytoremediation of arsenic in the Toledo, OH  area.

In addition, I will continue research at my home school of Elizabethtown College in fall 2005 and spring 2006. The focus of this project is to monitor and analyze the growth of plants along a riparian buffer in Elizabethtown, PA. Several plots of land along the Conewago Creek were planted by the TCCCA with various trees that are tolerant of saturated soils. Each plot received a different treatment, to assess various growth variables for constructed riparian buffer plantings. I will plot the trees with GPS points onto a GIS map for analysis and presentation, as well as deduce which treatments and variables were most beneficial to tree growth along the stream.

Perhaps my most interesting activity is doodling. Here are two doodles that I thought showed some sort of interesting sci-fi faces. I have posted many of such doodles of animals, random shapes, and sketches to both deviantart.com and webshots.com for your viewing pleasure. Please receive permission from me before using any of my images.

Here is my resume as of January 2006
