Education:

B. S., Chemistry, Villanova, 1985
Ph. D., Inorganic Chemistry (Bioinorganic), University of Delaware, 1992

Post Doc, Biochemistry (Neurobiochemistry), Penn State University, M. S. Hershey Medical Center, 1992

Positions:

Elizabethtown College (sabbatical replacement, biochemistry), Spring 1992
Lebanon Valley College (sabbatical replacement, inorganic chemistry), 1992-93
Elizabethtown College (Biochemistry), 1993-present

Teaching Responsibilities:

I have three main areas of teaching responsibility: biochemistry lecture and lab for chemistry, biochemistry and biology majors; the Core (general education courses)  where I teach biochemistry for non-science majors; and the Hershey Foods' Honors Program where I've taught a freshman seminar and the interdisciplinary course, Chemistry and Politics of AIDS and Cancer.

Research Interests:

Currently, I am involved in two research projects, one laboratory-based and the other dealing with educational trends.  In lab, we are investigating the targeting and entry of photodynamic molecules into the cell as a means of anti-tumor therapy.  On the educational front, I am investigating trends in teaching biochemistry to non-biochemistry majors, especially non-scientists.  Additional details for these projects (and others) are found on my "Professional" web page.
