ACCESS TIP - Large file size causes database to be unusable

Background:
Because the college uses Jenzabar to accumulate and report on data, probably our users won't have giant Access databases. But just in case, here's some important information.

An Access database contains tables, queries, forms, reports, macros, etc. All these objects together comprise the contents of the file.
An Access database file ends with MDB. (Microsoft Database) As you add more tables, queries, etc., the file gets larger.

Problem:
When an Access file size reaches 2.095 gig (yes, gigabytes), it will crash and become corrupted, so that you can't use the database. But you will use lots of kleenex.

Cure: NONE

Prevention:
Examine the database's file size, using My Computer or Explorer.
Periodically Compact and Repair the database.
