EXCEL 2003 - Turn off Excel's Auto Font Scaling Option

Scenario:

A chart is an object in an Excel spreadsheet. When you resize the Excel chart, the text may be scaled accordingly, which in turn may make the words harder to read. Here's how to turn off this default option by disabling auto font scaling.

Excel Chart as an object in a spreadsheet

Chart is resized to make it smaller.

Now the chart text is so small it is hard to read

RIGHT click a blank area on the chart

Select Format Chart Area

Select the Font Tab

Un-check Auto scale

OK

Now when you resize the chart the text remains the same size
