WINDOWS & OFFICE TIP - Select continuous or noncontinuous files

Did you know that you can select multiple files at once to open or delete them or perform other tasks?

The technique also works with selecting messages in Outlook with the goal of moving or deleting the messages.

To select continuous files (files that are next to each other in a list):
1. Click the first file that you want to select, then press and hold the Shift key.
2. Move your pointer to the last file that you want to select and scroll over it (or single-click) with your mouse, and all files in between are automatically selected.

Example of continuous messages selected in Outlook

To select noncontinuous files (files that are not next to each another in a list):
1. Press and hold the Ctrl key.
2. Point to (or single-click) each file that you want to select.
