Problem:
In Word, Excel or other Microsoft applications, you want to open files
from your Private folder on the network, but it is time consuming having
to navigate to your Private folder on the network from "My Documents"
folder on the C: drive.
Solution:
Add the "Private" folder to the location bar (called My Places)
in any Microsoft Office XP application's File-Open dialog box. This only
works in Office XP.

| Navigate
to your Private folder
(The
one with your email name and $) |

| Click
once on Private |
|
| Click
the drop down list arrow next to "Tools" inside the File
Open dialog box
Click
Add to "My Places"
The
My Places bar appears on the left side of the dialog box. |

| The
Private folder appears at the bottom of the My Places bar.
You
can move the Private folder up or down on the My Places bar
|

Move
folder Up or Down:
RIGHT
mouse click on Private folder
Click
Move Up (or Move Down)
Follow
the above 2 steps as many times as necessary till the Private folder
is where you want it. |

Office XP applications will display the Private folder on the My Places
bar in File Open or File Save As dialog boxes. |
