OUTLOOK TIP - Label/Color Appointments Automatically

Background:
You can color appointments in your calendar to more easily note specific types of appointments. Let's say every time you type "Office Visit" in the appointment subject line, you would like the appointment to look red in the calendar.

How To:

Select the Calendar

On the menu bar, select Edit, Automatic Formatting...

 

Select Add

 

Note: Labeling of Meeting, Class and Family have been created previously.

 

Type a name for the label in the Name: box

 

 

Example:
Office Visit

 

Select a label color

Example:
Important

 

 

 

 

Click
Condition

 

Click in Search for the word(s):

Type the word or phrase you will include in a subject line

Example: Office Visit

Click OK

The automatic label is completed

 

Use the label

In the Subject line of the appointment, type the word(s) you set up previously. Include other text as needed.

Save and close the appointment

 

 

The appointment displays with a red background in your calendar
