WORD TIP - #1 Annoying Feature to Turn Off in
Word 2000 or Word XP

Tabs and Backspace Set Left Indent

Problem:

You didn't do anything unusual, but now all your new paragraphs are indented 1/2" on the first line. Or maybe the first line of all your new paragraphs are hanging, i.e., even with the left margin, though the rest of the paragraph is indented 1/2".

How to Turn it Off:
Word 2000
Menu: Tools, Options...


Edit tab

Un-check
Tabs and backspace set left indent

Click OK

 

(You only have to do this once. It changes the setting permanently.)
