New Document Based on a Template
Situation:
There's got to be an easier way to create a document, other than from scratch.
Solution:
Instead, use a Word template that has done most of the work for you.
The following example uses Word 2003.
Menu: File, New...

Older versions of Word display the Template dialog box immediately. |

Make sure NOT to delete
Blank Document |

Business Fax
Select the template you want to use
Note the preview
Click OK

Close the Task Pane by clicking it's X |

Point your I beam on the bolded here.
Click and then type. Don't press the ENTER key unless you want an extra line.

| Save the document |
This is a regular file, not a template, so the template will not be over-written.
Templates have .DOT extensions, Documents have .DOC extensions. |
