Take Care of Your Pet!    

In order to complete your task, you MUST follow the directions below.

Have fun and good luck taking care of your very own pet!

 

Before We Start

1.     You will be put into groups of five people.

2.   Each member of your group will be given a different animal to take care of and research.

3.   Every person in your group will visit the website below and read the page.

4.   Each person in your group will print out a copy of the cluster map below.

5.   You will be looking for the following information to fill out your cluster map: 

A.  What food does your pet need? 

B.   What kind of environment can your pet live in? 

C.   What type of grooming does your pet need? 

D.  What kinds of exercises can you do with your pet? 

E.   Does your pet have to visit a veterinarian to make sure they are healthy? 

F.   One fun fact about your pet.

Take Care of Your Pet:

1.     Find the picture of your pet below.

a.    Each picture has different links inside that will help you find all of the information you need to fill out your cluster map.

2.   Click on the link (the name of your animal in blue) below your animal, visit the different pages, and search for your information.

3.   Record all your needed information on the cluster map.

4.   Don’t forget to do the coloring activity!

5.   When you have all the questions answered, gather your information, and get back together with your group.

Picking Your Ideal Pet:

1.     With your group, share what you learned about your pet and how to properly take care of it.

a.    Be sure to show your map and coloring sheet!

2.   TOGETHER, decide which animal is the ideal pet to own.

a.    As a group you must only pick ONE!

3.   With your group, come up with FIVE reasons or more on WHY this is the ideal pet.

4.   Your group will then present your ideal pet to the class.

a.    As a group, explain what you must do to care for that animal.

b.    Don’t forget to show the cluster map and coloring sheet used for that animal.

c.    Each person in the group MUST give at least one reason why it is the ideal pet.

5.   After your group presents, hand in your personal cluster map and coloring sheet.
