2014 Study Tour to Bangladesh

Elizabethtown College, in partnership with Yunus Centre, developed a new study tour to Bangladesh. It was offered during spring break 2014.

Summer Internship in Bangladesh

Elizabethtown College students were able to pursue an internship at the Yunus Centre. Economics major Stephen Brill was the first student to complete such an internship, in the summer of 2014. He spent 3 months at the Yunus Centre in Dhaka.

Elizabethtown College and Yunus Centre

Elizabethtown College has had a productive association with Dr. Muhammad Yunus and the Yunus Centre.

In April 2012, Dr. Yunus delivered the College’s Ware Lecture on Peacemaking (for the general public) and the Carper Lecture on Ethics, Business and Society (for a largely business audience).

In November 2012, the College hosted Ms. Holly Mosher, who gave a guest lecture in an economic development class, followed by a discussion of her movie Bonsai People at a public forum.

In April 2013, the College hosted officers of the Yunus Centre at an event involving Dr. Carl Strikwerda, president of Elizabethtown College. The Yunus Centre officers also led a social business workshop for Elizabethtown College students during their visit.
